Ribbons and Karma
Ribbons
As you have all noticed, many members here have purple ribbons, and some lucky ones have gold ones. Let me give you a short outline of what determines whether or not you get one:
No Ribbon:
- New members that have been here for less than two weeks
- Members that rarely participate in threads or are inactive
- Member who often RPs with very short, plain posts
- Member that does not abide by the rules
Purple Ribbon:
- Members that have been here for over two weeks and are relatively active
- Characters have well-written, lengthy RPing posts (over four sentences)
- Members follow all the rules
Gold Ribbon
- Active characters that have been around at least 3 months
- Members followed rules, maintained their threads, and often gave good lengthy posts
- Member is friendly, polite, and welcoming
Extra Notes:
- Do NOT put a ribbon in your profile if you haven't been given one by our staff! We have multiple safeguard methods that tells us whether or not you have really earned one. If you steal a ribbon there will be consequences, but I know you'd never steal anything, so I'm not worried!
- Activity level is looked at by your character's posts and log in dates (if you RP more than one character and use one account to RP both, I might think your other charrie is inactive... post will all your charries at least once a month to avoid deletions! )
- Come to us if you don't have a ribbon and feel you deserve one. We could sometimes forget you when you've earned it.
- This is not made to punish those that don't post often or to make anyone feel bad at all... I made ribbons to reward the active loyal members of this forum, since I can't just come in to give you all cookies, lol.
- School is important, and everyone has a life: By active, I don't mean coming on twice a day; I just mean that you come on to RP often enough to follow the plot... it could be as little as once a week or as often as every day... it depends on many things!
- I have had a couple of PMs of members saying: "I know I have been inactive, but don't take my ribbon away... I will be more active!" If you get a ribbon, don't feel pressured to be active in order to keep it. It is actually easier to get a ribbon than to lose one. Once you have it you keep it unless you are as inactive as to abandon the forum, lol. Again, I know people have lives.
- Let me know if there is something here you disagree with. I will be happy to reconsider.
Karma
For some of you, Karma may not mean too much, but there are others that value their points, so read up!
Exalting gives a karma point to the account you choose.
Smiting takes a karma point away from the account you choose.
Please be fair when smiting or exalting someone. If the member said something offensive on purpose, that may deserve a smiting... but don't go overboard, unless the member is continuing with their negative behavior. Same goes to exalting. And don't use one account to exalt your other one, lol... don't forget, Starclan sees all!
If a member gets smited repetitively and they come to me saying they did nothing wrong (and I don't see that they did something wrong), I will investigate (but please don't come to me for one or two smitings or almost everyone will be PMing me! ).
