FORUM RULES
By joining and participating in this forum, you acknowledge that you are here to have fun, recognize that you are free to express your opinions, agree to respect and follow the rules, understand that guidelines and regulations may (infrequently) change, and accept consequences for your actions (or lack thereof!). ;D
Ok, lets keep these simple:
1. If you join, stay active! ALL new members/characters are to apply in the "Acceptance" board.
2. Only one account per character is allowed. If you wish to RP as more than one character, make one account per character for a maximum of two accounts per person (and let us know you are the same person, just for curiosity's sake, lol).
3. Be descriptive and put effort in your posts when RPing... at least use three or four sentences. And use proper GRAMMAR and PUNCTUATION!!! Use the spell-checker for your posts! You want to look smart don't you?! Prove it!
4. Make sure you know where your character is at all times. Be careful not to RP in two different locations. Maintain your threads (If you post at camp and later post at the clan borders, modify your thread back at camp and type "At Borders" or something, so people don't think you are still there.)
5. Do not PM other members to join your forum! That is what the advertisement board is for. Also, do not copy anything that is originally from this forum. That includes the banners and other pictures, smilies, rules, layout, plot, or other ideas.
6. When RPing, make sure you are not powerplaying, godmodding, or chatspeaking. (see below for definitions) Be fluent and fair with your actions, and be realistic. You can only RP cats; don't make up unrealistic stories of mystical wolves or aliens.
7. Please do not spam or advertise in the Cbox. Please post your site in the advertising board instead
8. Second code word: Violetstar
*If there is something you don't like, or a rule you wish would change, let me know. These rules are not written in stone, after all!
I, Lightstar of Thunderclan, reserve the right to take any actions necessary to keep this forum flowing positively.
That is all. Dismissed! ;D
Definitions:
POWER-PLAYING: Injuring a character that is not your own, or make them do something their RPer doesn't mention.
Examples:
Good RPing: Fireheart aimed a blow at Blackheart's head, hoping to knock him down.
Bad RPing: Fireheart whacked Blackheart on the head, making him lose his balance and fall down.
When fighting, we always let the opponent decide whether your attack is a successful hit or not.
In the "good" RPing example, Fireheart is giving Blackheart the option of either getting hurt or evading the attack. Blackheart could either respond by saying: "Blackheart was hit hard and landed on his side" or "Fireheart's attack missed him and
Blackheart tried to counter the attack."
In the "bad" example, Blackheart has no choice.
GOD-MODDING: Being overly powerful, invincible or supernatural. Rarely or never allowing an enemy to hit you in battle.
In the example above, if Blackheart never allows Fireheart to hit him, Blackheart is god-modding, which is unrealistic and unfair.
CHAT-SPEAKING: Speaking in slang. It is very annoying and bothersome to other members!
Example:
Chat-speak: He11o wots up? sum1 tak 2 me!!11! nm i g2g l8tr
Please refrain from doing this, especially when RPing! Watch your spelling and grammar please!
Consequences for not following the rules:
Offense: Rules are accidentally broken.
Consequence: If it only happens once or twice, don't worry about it. Everyone forgets a rule once in a while! If it happens a significant amount of times, you will be told through PM to be more careful. If it continues to happen, I will leave a note in your profile as a reminder. If it still continues (which by this time I highly doubt it) I will assume you are breaking rules intentionally, which leads us to the following offence.
Offense: Rules are purposely disobeyed.
Consequence: You will be PMed. Depending on the situation, I may let it go the first time or you will be warned once (with a note and warning bar in your profile). The second time it happens, you'll be temporarily banned, and permanently banned the third time. If you don't like a rule, you can easily approach me to discuss it. There is no need to go breaking them on purpose.
Offense: Doing something bothersome that isn't mentioned in the rules that upsets other members.
Consequence: You will be notified that it should not continue. If it is repeated after several warnings, you will get a temporary ban, and a permanent ban if it continues after that.
Hmmm I think I covered everything... Again, if someone has any objection, let me know. I think I am fair and very willing to listen to opinions! ;D
