((Sorry I havn't posted here in a while! I've got a bit of back-tracking to do here...))
Bloodclaw wandered silently around the huge clearing, his broad shoulders squared and his head held high. Beside him walked the old, molting warrior Patchpelt. The two toms looked rather strange walking together; Bloodlcaw's well proportioned body next to Patchpelt's scrawny, boney fisique, but they were friends none the less. Bloodclaw's harsh, golden gaze flicked about the clearing, resting momentarily on a few of the cats from other clans. For some reason, he found himself searching for one cat in particular- one cat whom he knew was not at the gathering. Dawncloud had remained at the ShadowClan camp, upon the order of her brother and leader Rowanstar. Bloodclaw was a little surprised at this choise, but didn't let it bother him. The only thing that vexed him was the twinge at the back of his mind every time he thought of Dawncloud's sleek pelt, her slim body and her shining eyes. "You all right, boy?" Asked a scratchy voice in Bloodlcaw's ear. Shaking his head roughly to clear it, the burly warrior looked around and saw Patchpelt staring at him strangely. "Oh... I'm fine..." Bloodlcaw responded uncertainly. The older warrior looked unsatisfied with his response, but turned away anyway and trotted jauntingly over to a group of RiverClan and ThunderClan elders. Bloodclaw sighed, feeling very odd, and made his way to the front of the croud to await the start of the Gathering. -- Willowstar nodded her greeting to Rowanstar, but did not turn to face him. She didn't particularly like the harsh leader, finding that his tactics of leading a clan were slightly rash and not very well thought-out. Still, the RiverClan leader did not voice her opinions aloud, but simply scoffed silently. Shaking her dark tabby head, Willowstar looked quickly over the ground of cats. WindClan had arrived finally- Gryphonstar was scrabbling his way up the Great Rcok- but where was ThunderClan? She was about to suggest that they begin the Gathering without Lightstar when she heard the sounds of another set of claw scrabbling up the side of the rock behind the WindClan leader. Looking around, she saw Lightstar heaving herself onto the Great Rock, looking very winded and out of breath. Smiling at her, Willowstar mewed a greeting then turned to look at the cats in the clearing. All four clans had finally gathered below them; it was time to start the Gathering. ((Woah sorry kinda suckish, but at least I posted finally :] OKAY! There we go...))

((OH MAH GAWD I'M SO SORRY I HAVN'T BEEN ON IN LIKE. . . EVERRR!!))
Rowanstar looked over to where Batpaw was slinking off up the slope, closely followed by Tigersoul. The ShadowClan leader sighed. "Batpaw is. . . can be a little stubbourn at times," he meowed in response to Lightstar's question. "But as soon as I give him a mentor, I think he shall progress into a very good ShadowClan warrior." He raised his head. This last statement had the sting of a threat to it. He nodded to Gryphonstar as he leaped onto the rock. "Hopefully Tigersoul will be able to keep him around," he meowed, expression mildly concerned. ~~ Tigersoul stiffened and wrinkled his nose at Batpaw's disrespect. "It is my business," he gowled, "Because you are an apprentice and I am a warrior. It's my job to look out for you, and all the other apprentices and kits." He puffed out his chets, trying to look bigger and more superior. "Now. Go back there, and listen to what your leader has to say." He flicked his tail and began to lead the way back to the crowd of Clan cats. ~~ Rowanstar took a deep breath, then turned to the other leaders. "Shall we begin?" he asked. Without waiting for an answer, Rowanstar turned around to look down at the gathered cats. He raised his head and began. "Cats of all Clans. Welcome to another Gathering, the last Gathering of New-leaf I suppose. Greenleaf is well on its way, and ShadowClan is thriving off the good weather. We have not much to report, but I would like to announce that one of our apprentices, Batpaw, will be recieving a new mentor after this Gathering. After his former mentor died of Green cough (made that up, sorry. . .), it's about time he got a new one. Also, I would like to welcome Silverpaw, formally known as Janna, as a full ShadowClan apprentice. Her mentor is Dawncloud, who is not with us this evening. Icepaw, Jaypaw and Lionpaw have also all recieved mentors and are training to become warriors of ShadowClan. I have taken Icepaw as my own apprentice, and I will teach him all that I know. As usual, prey is easily found, our warriors are healthy and things are under control. Except for one thing: A few of my warriors have noticed a strange scent in our territory. The scents are neither rogue nor loner, and can't belong to a kittypet. We have also seen huge dark shapes lumbering about. If anyone has an explanation, please share it. These intruders must be stopped." Rowanstar unsheathed his claws, feeling them grind against the Great Rock. He bowed his head and stepped back for the other leaders to share their news. He secretly anticipated Lightstar's news, but shrugged the feeling off. What was wrong with him?

Lightstar stepped foward, "Thunderclan is also doing very well this new-leaf. We have a new warrior amongst us. Owlpaw recived his warrior name not to long ago, and we now elcome him as Owlspirit." She looked at Rowanstar, "Thunderclan has also been seeing strange things, and smeeling odd smells. None of my warriors have reported anything. I prepose, that all four leaders should do to mothermouth soon, and discuss this with Starclan, that is only a sugestion." Lightstar took a step back, and noticed Rowanstar looking at her again. She shrugged, and looked at Willowstar and Gryphonstar.

Willowstar grinned respectfully to Lightstar as she stepped back, then took her own place at the head of the Great Rcok. She looked out over the gathered cats, taking them in for a moment, then raised her voice above the muffled mews from below. "RiverClan has also been triving this new-leaf. The river is running as clear and quick as always, abundant with fish. We have plenty of prey and are as strong as we have been in the past. As proof of this, we would welcome three new apprentices here tonight- Redpaw, Sandpaw and Greypaw- and Drizzplepaw, who has received Robinwing as a new mentor after his previous mentor died tragically. Also, RiverClan finally has a new deputy: Scrotchedclaw has been granted the honour of being my successor." Willowstar paused for a moment to let the meows of approval die down. "Now, on a less pleasurable note. My warriors have too seen these strange dark shapes flitting through the shadows of our territory. I agree with Lightstar on the fact that something must be done about this. We must find out what these creatures are and what sort of a threat they are to us and a trip to Mother Mouth seems to be the best way to find out." With that, and a curt nod, Willowstar stepped back, leaving the space at the head of the Rock open for Gryphonstar.

Gryphonstar stepped forward, feeling alittle down as usual. His Clan had nothing to report on. Nothing exciting...but...the WindClan leader did mention these 'intruders' as Rowanstar put it at the last Gathering. Dare he bring it up? No. He was not the type of cat to gloat about his findings before everybody else.
"WindClan is doing well. There is enough prey to feed all of the Clan, Mothwing's kits are growing strong and soon we hope to be apprenticed. Stormtail is currently taken apon the role of training Snowpaw, whom are both here at the Gathering" he paused, looking around the clearing for a moment before continuing "I agree a trip to Mothermouth should be inforced...but not only going alone. If the threat is dangerous, we shouldn't be so bold to forget that we are only cats. Also; I urge everybody to not approach these creatures until we know what they are. I do not want cats dying..." Gryphonstar added in a grave tone. With that, he stepped down.
---
Batpaw's fur bristled along his spine, but he did not move from his spot. The apprentice would not take orders from Tigersoul, nor any warrior in ShadowClan...save for only Rowanstar if need be.
See if I care... he thought, when Tigersoul's back was turned, the young cat disappeared into the brambles.

Lightstar nodded at Gryphonstar, "Perhaps we shall set a time, and all threee leaders will go, and take their most trusful and powerful warriors along," She looked at the other three, "What do you think?"

Stormtail and Snowpaw looked up at the four leaders. "What was the trouble of the giant things lurking out of sight. Stormtail thought, "Gryphonstar will have to choose.. No back to the creature business. I could be some big cat." Snowpaw looked at her mentor "Stormtail, when will..." Snowpaw stopped as Stormtail hissed. He put his tail on Snowpaw's mouth as a RiverClan cat padded by. "Not at the gathering, Snowpaw." Stormtail hissed. Snowpaw looked down at her paws. She hated it when her mentor scolded her. "Sorry." she muttered. Meanwhile Winterflight padded over to Redpelt. Redpelt nodded for her to sit. "Redpelt, you and I know that there are.." She stopped as Stormtail and Snowpaw padded up to them. "Hi, Stormtail. Hi, Snowpaw." Winterfligt mew to them. Stormtail sat down next to Redpelt. "Have you heard that there are big creatures lurking in the dark night?" ask Snowpaw. Snowfeather nodded. "Stormtail, you better try to keep Snowpaw away from hunting in the night." warned Snowfeather. Stormtail nodded. His stormy gray head bowed. Redpelt got up and padded away. He hated it when Stormtail came towards him. Hissing, Redpelt bumped into Dovewing. "Sorry, Dovewing." he murmured.

Rowanstar stiffened at Gryphonstar's grave tone. Would cats die if these creatures were examined? The ShadowClan leader was harsh, but did not want any of his warriors to die while simply walking through their territory. He frowned and his expressions hardened. He nodded to Lightstar's suggestion of taking a few warriors. "I agree," he meowed, loud enough for the cats in the hollow to hear, "We must find out what these creatures are and why they are here. StarClan may have the answers. For all we know, this is a sign from our warrior ancestors, and we must solve the riddle. Perhaps these creatures will befriend us. However, I do not want to endanger any of my or any other Clan if I am wrong, and these creatures are indeed as dangerous as we assume." He paused to let this sink in. "I suggest meeting here at Fourtrees in three days time to take the journey to Mothermouth. Medicine cats and a few skilled warriors will be joining our patrols. If the other leaders agree, that is. . ." He turned to face Willowstar, Lightstar and Gryphonstar. For a moment, his gaze lingered on Lightstar's lithe silvery form, and he found himself once again admiring her power, determination and knowledge. He shook his head slightly and hardened his gaze, in case any of the other leaders had seen him looking at Lightstar. ~ Tigersoul padded further into the crowd, hoping Batpaw was following him. "I hope you know that if I tell Rowanstar about this, you'll--" He stopped short in his sentence as he turned around to see that Batpaw was no where to be seen. He cursed under his breath and tasted the air. Batpaw's scent was there, but it was weak. He had left as soon as Tigersoul turned his back! "Why, that ignorant little. . . " Tigersoul grumbled as he pushed his way furhter into the crowd, ignoring the grunts of annoyance from the other cats. He heard Rowanstar make his speech about these strange animals, and suddenly had an idea. He'd take it up with his leader after the Gathering, but was sure it would be worth it.

"Yes," Said Lightstar, nodding quickly, "I agree that three days would be the appropiete time, we should allow this information to sink in first. Willowstar, Gryphonstar? What about you?" She looked at Rowanstar, and found herself smiling, then she frowned, why exactly HAD she been smiling?

For some reason Shadowfoot could not stand Bloodclaw. There was something about him that made her just want to spring but she couldnt figure out why. Once she herd the report of Thunderclan she just found her own world. Staring at the tom with clear/open hostilty.

Willowstar nodded as both Rowanstar and Lightstar voiced their oppinons on the matter. Then she stepped forward, adressing the other leaders but letting her voice ring out around the clearing. "I agree with you both. Three days is more than enough time to prepare for our meeting with StarClan. I would of course like to discuss with my clan, however this seems to be a very effective idea. Gryphonstar," The RiverClan leader looked at the tom next to her, frowning slightly. "You seem to be slightly apprenhensive about all this. Is there something on your mind?" Willowstar's voice was questioning but not firm. She had a strange feeling that the large tom was hiding something. But if he was, he did a very good job of concealing it... whatever it was. -- Bloodclaw scanned the clearing with his strong yellow eyes. His gaze rested on the leaders for a moment, then drifted to his right. He saw, sitting about 5 tail lengths away, that Shadowfoot was staring at him with an expression that was clearly filled with hatred. Resisting the urge to snarl at the she-cat, Bloodclaw drew himself up to his fullest height and returned the look. The fur along his spine began to bristle at the sight of her. He knew that she was as ambitious for the position of ShadowClan deputy as he was, but Bloodclaw would not let some smug little she-cat steal the honour away from him. His eyes narrowed mancingly, he pointedly turned his back on Shadowfoot and began to walk through the croud. He had barely walked ten steps when he almost collided head first with a rather angry looking Tigersoul. Forcing the hair on his shoulders to lie flat again, Bloodclaw looked at his fellow warrior with interest. "Something the matter Tigersoul?" He asked, trying to peer over the tom's shoulder to see if he had argued with another cat.

Gryphonstar blinked at Willowstar's open concern, but shook his head firmly. "No. I just believe we should not act so rash toward the situation, that is all. I really do not want cats from any Clan getting into any danger" he stated to the RiverClan leader.
Who will guard the Camp while I am away...? I have not yet encountered a Cat who will become Deputy for WindClan... he added inwardly, depressed.
---
"What's with all this talk of going to Mothermouth? Why there?" Drizzlepaw asked. "What do you mean?" Dewdrop replied, puzzled. "Well...shouldn't medicine cats know what's going on...?" he ventured softly.

Lightstar looked at him, "Gryphonstar, we cannot do this without a firm approval from all the leaders. If we take our medicine cats, and our most trusowrthy warrior, no cat will be at harm." She looked at the crowd, "i also think, while we are away, that there will be NO trying to attack another clan, since all the leaders will be gone."

Littlewing listened intently. How exciting! She thought, I'll get to go to the Moonstone and speak with StarClan about these strange creatures. Perhaps I could leave Sandpaw in charge of looking after the queens and elders. Yes, I think she will do a wonderufl job. The WindClan medicine cat's apprentice, Sandpaw, had been doing a very good job with her duties and had so far proved herself to be an excellent medicine cat. Littlewing new that leaving the care of the Clan in her paws was a good decision. ~ Tigersoul whirled around to see Bloodclaw coming up behind him. He shook his head and snarled. "That stubborn little kit just walked off on me! If I ever get my claws on Batpaw. . ." His furious growl faded away as he heard Lightstar speak. The ambition that burned in his soul was sparked by what she had said. If he could be made deput in three day's time, he could take the position of leader while Rowanstar was away. And the things he could do with that power. . . Tigersoul knew that Rowanstar was too loyal to break Lightstar's agreement. He would make sure that his Clan remained peaceful. But Tigersoul thought differently. If he were in charge of ShadowClan while all the leaders and strongest warriors were gone, he could lead an attack on any of the other three Clans. He would be able to follow in the dark footsteps of the legendary Tigerstar, fulfill the dream the former ShadowClan leader never got to. If he were left in charge, he could easily begin a course of events that would lead to the manifestation of an all new TigerClan. He could take over the entire forest in one day's time. He could over throw all the leaders. He could finally kill Rowanstar. ~ Rowanstar nodded grimly to what Gryphonstar said. He waited until Lightstar was finished speaking, and nodded to her as well, then meowed. "I agree with Lightstar. We will not act offencisevly to these strangers until we know their full potential. If we are careful, no cat will be killed or harmed in any way." He raised his voice and continued, "I also agree with Lightstar on the matter of attacks. It would be a petty thing to attack another Clan while their defences are weak." I can't believe I'm saying this, he thought, I would usually sieze this opportunity to attack the other Clans, even claim territory. But something told him not to. Was it his loyalty to StarClan and the warrior code? Was it his own curiosity to find out who or what these strangers were? Or was it his desire to please Lightstar? He blinked and shook his head, desperatly trying to clear his head. This was not right. He had to stop thinking of Lightstar. Wishing to forget his thoughts, Rowanstar took a step forward and adressed the gathered cats. "If the leaders have nothing else to say, then I believe this Gathering is concluded." He stepped back and readied himself to leap from the rock, but waited politely to see if the other leaders had anything else to say.
