Dawncloud sighed. "Be careful, Janna." Her voice was firm, yet slightly concerned. She knew how fierce Rowanstar could be. He said he'd kill her if she lost. He could kill her on the third move. And it wasn't because Janna was weak. She had the nerves of a Clan cat and knew what they were about. It was because Rowanstar had a burning fire inside of him, and no boundaries. He killed ruthelessly, and he wouldn't hold back. Rowanstar raised his chin, a growl bubbling deep in his throat. "Let's getthis overwith, before another cat sees me fighting a kittypet." He spat out the last word like it was bile. Without any warning, he lept forward, claws unsheathed and jaws gnashing.

Alabaster closed his blue eyes, fear tingly through his whole body fro his young friend. Janna knelt down as Rowanstar leapt at her. She darted to the side. She remembered when Alabaster had leapt at her like this. She raced to Rowanstar'd slind side and bated as hard as she could on his flank. Alabaster peeked through his paws. Janna wasn't doing all that bad. she was following what he had thought her pricicly.

Rowanstar hurtled over Janna once again, flying right over the spot where she once stood. He hit the ground, but lept to his paws almost immediatly. He had been taught to never let your back touch the ground. He hissed and raced across the ground at Janna. This kittypet had more fighting knowledge than he had expected. Instead of leaping at her, he simply rammed his shoulder into her chest, using sheer force instead of speed.

Rowanstar shook his head to clear it. He glared back at Janna just in time to see her speeding towards him. He stepped aside slightly and batted the side of her head with his large paw, one claw cutting a small gash on her temple. He growled at her and lowered his stance.

Janna wheeled around. She shook her head, trying to get the blood pout of her eyes. "Janna...." whispered Alabaster in fear for his friend. Janna rushed foward without pausing a moment later. She remembered what Alalbaster had told her, 'Don't giver your enemy time to think,' Janna rushed foward and raked her claws across Rowanstar;s face, the sped out of reach of his claws.

Rowanstar threw his head back and let out a pained snarl. He blinked the blood from his eyes, growling and hissing the entire time. His long tail lashed back and forth angrily. "Good shot," he snarled, "For a piece of fox dung." He raced once again at Janna, jaws snapping for her throat. This was no longer a fight for enterance to his Clan. Rowanstar meant to kill this pathetic little kittypet, whether Dawncloud wanted him to or not. Janna was definately rubbing his fur the wrong way.

Janna dove under the rushing, snapping jaws of Rowanstar and came up behind him. She was afraid that this cat was going to fight to the death. Could she really beat the clan leader, and join the clan? She whacked him hard on the flank with unsheathed claws, then darted away again.

Rownastar groaned as his flank was beaten by Janna's surprisingly strong strike. He shook his head, to clear it, then whirled on her and growled as fiercly as possible. He was starting to lose his self control, abandoning all fighting techniques. Furious with this annoying little kittypet, he hurled himself at Janna and hooked a claw into her ear. He scored his claws down her shoulder, then lept back slightly.

Janna stagered and tumbled over after Rowanstar hooked her ear. She hissed and leapt to her feet. Her claws were tense, and blood was seeping down her shoulder. She shook her head, breaving heavily, "If you think I'll give up Rownstar," She mewed, "Think again. I WILL get into your clan!" She bared her fangs and unsheathed her claws as far as they could go.

Rowanstar let out a breathy laugh. This she-cat had proved to be very fierce, and he was out of breath. "You think you'll live in my Clan." His voice was rough and horse. "Even if you do join the honourable ranks of ShadowClan, I'm sure my warriors will kill you. That is, if I don't kill you first." With a power much stronger than any he had felt before, Rowanstar hurled himself at Janna. His paw struck her in the throat, and he was about to rip it apart when a massive force bowled him over. Dawncloud, her hackles raised and fangs bared, had rammed her shoulder into her brother's side. He went skidding away, spitting as he ran into a fern. "Dawncloud, you piece of foxdung!" He scrabbled to his paws. His sister didn't even flinch at the insult. "Rowanstar, this is foolish! You know you can't beat this young she-cat." Dawncloud turned to Janna. "Janna, you fight well. Just like any ShadowClan warrior. No matter what my brother says, I think you deserve to join our ranks." She bowed her head in respect to the formidable she-cat.

Janna scrambled to her paws, her flank heaving from the toms surprise attack. Alalbaster had yowled, almost ripping his own throat. He rushed over to her and rubbed his head on her muzzle, "Are you ok?" He asked feircly. "F-fine." Panted Janna. She looked over at Dawncloud and Rownastar. She regained her self, and stood to face them boath. "Thank you Dawncloud." Her eyes met the glare of the leaders, "You're were amazing in battle Rowanstar. I can tell why YOU are leader. You're amazingly skilled." And she wasn't lying.

Dawncloud smiled and dipped her, head appreciating Janna's compliment to her fierce brother. However, Rowanstar didn't take it so well. He swiped his paw in front of her face. "I don't need a kittypet to tell me how skilled I am." He snarled at Janna. "I don't take compliments from filth." He then whirled to face the white loner. "And you," he thrust his face forward so his nose was a mouse length from the loner's, "You get off my territory. I'll let this kittypet into my Clan, but I won't stop my warriors from tearing her to shreads." Dawncloud swatted her brother over the head. "Shut up, mousebrain." She turned to Janna. "Ignore him," she purred, "ShadowClan aren't all that he makes them to be. They're not all big balls of thorns like their leader." She then bowed her head to the Alabaster. "I'm very thankful for your help, but you must leave ShadowClan territory. Janna will be taken care of, trust me."

Alabaster glanced at his friend, worry in his blue eyes. Janna smiled fondly at him, "Thanks for teaching me Alabaster," She mewed, "I'm sure I'll see you again." She waved her tail in farewell as her old mentor and friend walked of. Her paws prickled with exitment. She was going to be a CLAN cat! How exiting! I wonder what my names gonna be? She thought.

Dawncloud smiled at Janna's obvious excitment. "Now Janna," she mewed, "Follow me. Take note of all the different scents here. You will get to know ShadowClan's scent, and the scents of the other Clans will come soon. Just keep alert for any scents you recognise." Rowanstar sniffed. "Like a kittypet will ever know the ways of the Clans." Dawncloud ignored him. "Follow me," she meowed as she shot off into the marshy territory. Rowanstar raced along beside her, hoping that the kittypet would get lost. When they arrived in Camp, ShadowClan would not be happy. But Rowanstar didn't care. If they killed her, it was just one less problem for him to worry about.
