Snowfeather padded slowly behind Lightstar. She was deep in thought about the lion creatures.

((ooc: Akk! I lost the URL to this site...Sorry, Lighty. -le sigh- But I'm back now. ^^ Tell me when I shall bring in Bane and what not...)) Gryphonstar led the small patrol of WindClan cats to Highstones, pausing at the cave enterance. Should the warriors wait outside and guard while the leaders and medicine cats go inside? It would be reckless not to have a guard.
---
Lynxclaw was thinking the same thing, for the bengal she-cat went up to Lightstar as quickly as she could.
"Perhaps some warriors should stay outside to guard the enterance while the leaders and medicine cats go inside Highstones?" she suggested "warriors of each Clan" the bengal-she cat added. There were so little cats on the patrol, after all.
Fallenleaf heard the ThunderClan cat's suggestion, and padded swiftly over. "I volunteer, if Willowstar allows me to." he stated, sitting on the ground.

Lightstar nodded, "I think we should leave a few Warriors out, maybe all while the medicne cats come in with the leaders." She looked at Rowanstar, Gryphonstar, and Willowstar, "What do you think?"
I think...after the leaders go in, Bane will be on a patrol, and see them...I dunno.))

Rowanstar padded up behind Lightstar and Snowfeather, his crisp olive-green eyes flicking around anxiously. Throughout the whole journey to Highstones, the usually confident ShadowClan leader had felt exposed and vulnerable. It was not a good feeling. Like prey in our own home, Rowanstar thought grudgingly. Now that the small group of leaders, medicine cats and warriors had reached Mother Mouth, Rowanstar had a creeping feeling. He had never felt like this when approaching Highstones, but for some reason, he was on edge even more than usual on this particular journey. Something was amiss, and he knew it. Taking a step forward, so his broad shoulders were paralell with Lightstar's sleek shoulders, he nodded curtly. "It would be unwise to leave the enterance unguarded at such a dangerous time." His eyes flicked around again, and he added in a gravely low voice, "Something doesn't feel right, and I'm not taking any chances." He turned his narrow face to his sister, Dawncloud, and his two other warriors Solofire and Pacthpelt. Dawncloud raised her chin and meowed before her brother give the order, "I will stay here and guard the enterance. However, I do not think that the four leaders should go in without protection. One warrior from each Clan should accompany the leaders and medicine cats inside, in case there is . . . danger within Mother Mouth" Though Rowanstar's growl was filled with irritation at his sister, Dawncloud stood strong, her eyes firm. The ShadowClan leader sighed, then nodded reluctantly. "I agree," he moewed. "Patchpelt, you will come with me and Flosspelt." He turned to Lightstar, Gryphonstar and Willowstar, and nodded for them to choose their warriors.

"Lynxclaw," Mewed Lightstar, "You will stay out here, and Flameheart, you will come inside with us." The young she-cat kneeded the ground anxiously. She had a bad feeling in her fur, a very bad feeling. She looked at Rowanstar, his brod shoulders equil with hers...then she looked at the other leaders.

Flameheart felt his heart rate quicken. The thought of being so close to StarClan, so close to his legendary ancestors was slightly daunting. However, he definatly did not want to stay out in the open where one could be attacked in an instant. He did not know what it was like inside Mother Mouth, but expected it to be much more safe than sitting outside with hostile warriors and dangerous creatures for who knows how long. ~ Crowfur lept over a boulder, his elderly bones aching with the effort. He landed with a grunt by Willowstar's side, and took a deep breath. "Willowstar," he meowed, loud enough for the other leaders to hear, "we must hurry. The moon is almost at its highest point. If we're not wuick, we mihgt miss the chance to speak with StarClan." The old tom was also feeling very anxious, but not for the same reason as Rowanstar and Lightstar. He was worried about what they might discover. Did StarClan have a plan for these strange creatures? Was there an ominous prophecy of death and destruction? Were the ancient Clans doomed? Crowfur unsuccesfully tried to stifle a shiver. He was worried about what StarClan would tell them, and what was in store for all four Clans.

Willowstar peered into the shadows of Mother Mouth and the fur on her shoulders stood on end, as though she expected something terrible to leap out of the dark depths at any moment. Then she turned to her companions and nodded in agreement. "It's fine with me Fallenleaf. Stay outside and guard the entrance, and Firefox will accompany us to the Moonstone." The RiverClan leader's voice was firm and did not betray her uneasiness at all. Only her eyes showed how nervous she was about being here. She turned her gaze to her medecine cat and mewed her agreement when he spoke to her. "You are right Crowfur," She said, adressing the other leaders aswell the elderly black cat. "There is no time to lose. The sooner we find out how to deal with this mennace, the better the rest of us will sleep at night." Flicking her gaze to Gryphonstar, she mewed quickly: "Who will accompany you, Gryphonstar? We must hurry." ~~ Patchpelt padded up to stand next to his leader. He noticed a strange glimmer in Rowanstar's eyes- one that he had not seen for a very, very long time. Then the old warrior realised that Lightstar was on Rownstar's other side, her light-grey pelt barely brushing his dark-tabby pelt. It was odd and for a moment Patchpelt didn't know what to make of it. Then an idea struck him with such great force that his breath caught in his throat. Were the two leaders...? No. It couldn't be. Patchpelt shook off the thought and adressed RiverClan's medecine cat. "We have plenty of time." He countered, glancing up at the moon. "We shouldn't rush. If StarClan has anything to share with us, I'm sure they will wait."

"Dovewing shall come inside with me. Lynxclaw is it?" Gryphonstar asked, turning to the ThunderClan warrior. The bengal she-cat nodded once at his question.
"All right...please tell Ravenstreak, when he gets here, that he is to stay outside with the rest of you?"
"Of course" Lynxclaw replied briskly, turning her gaze to the highstone's enterance. She wished to go inside...but had to remain outside with the rest of the warriors.
Fallenleaf didn't seem so down about it. He loathed going inside Highstones. Something about the moonstone was...unnerving...
"Let us go inside then" Gryphonstar breathed, brushing past the cats to lead the way inside, having no idea they were being watched...
---
Those fools... a lean shape thought, eyes glaring at the group of cats from the shadows. Bane watched as one of the lead cats departed into the cavern. The rest would follow soon...it was lucky to have picked the scent of them up so close to the mountain lion camp.
Hopefully the rest of his group would follow him here. Yet he could take on some petty little housecats with ease. They were but dirt from under his massive ebony claws.

Lightstar felt a sihver go up her spine. She looked around for any sign of danger....but saw nothing. She took one more look around before following Gryphonstar in.
Dovewing trotted in behind her leader, her white fur tingling with exitment.

Rowanstar instinctively looked around when he saw Lightstar cast her glance behind her. The feeling of being watched was strong, and Rowanstar desperatly wanted to be inside Mother Mouth, where it would be safer. . . or at least, he hoped it would be safer. Suddenly, an odd scent hit his nostrils. The fur on his shoulders stood on end, and a growl bubbled deep in his throat. He turned away as Gryphonstar padded past him, eyes still fixed on a certain spot in the forest. He knew something was out there, but he couldn't determine what it was. Nor did he want to find out. "The sooner we speak with StarClan," he hissed, "the better. Patchpelt, Flosspelt. . . let's go." He jerked his head toward the dark, ominous tunnel that led deep into the earth, under Highstones. He slunk along the dried grass, ears swiveled behind him, in the direction of the forest and moore lands of WindClan territory far behind them. Rowanstar meowed quickly, "Lightstar, Willowstar; we must hurry. Let's go." And with a final glance over his shoulder, the tabby ShadowClan leader disappeared into the tunnel and was immediatly plunged into darkness. ~ Cassiel padded up behind Bane, his grey-brown pelt blending perfectly with the surrounding trees and grass. Before him lay the Boulders, the pile of large rocks that sat atop an underground cavern. The tunnel leading under the earth was too small for any mountain lion to fit through, but he knew by the musty smell coming through the tunnel that it led underground. Small cats were garthered putside the cave enterance, and already two had slunk inside. The rest kept looking around anxiously, and he could smell their fear scent. One cat, a frizzled old black tom standing beside a tabby she-cat, was gazing directly at the spot where Bane and Cassiel were hiding. Did the old cat know they were there? If he did, Cassiel knew he wouldn't do anything about it. Glancing sideways at Bane, Cassiel hissed, "Can we eat them? It's not like they'd put up a fight."

Lightstar nodded at Snowfeather and Flameheart, and the three thunderclanners walked in. It was completly dark, and Lightstar had to keep the scent of Rowanstar and Gryphonstar in her nostrils to tell where she was going exactly. She still felt weary about the outside, where she had herd and seen...something that didn't settle with her. She trotted up so she was shoulder to shoulder with the Shadowclan leader. "Rowanstar," She whispered so the other cats wouldn't hear, "Outside, I scensed something...something that made my fur go all...prickly. Did you feel it to?"

Rowanstar nearly jumped out of his fur as he felt Lightstar creepu up beside him. He could not see a thing, and the stone walls on either side of him felt constricting. However, when he heard the other leader's voice, he relaxed slightly. Frowning, he recalled the prickly, forboding feeling he had felt earlier. It was exactly how Lightstar described her own feeling. Rowanstar nodded slowly, even thoguht he knew Lightstar couldn't see him. "I. . . I did feel that," he whispered back, "Like we were being watched. Hunted, almost. I've never felt like that when coming to Highstones, and I still don't feel right. I know something's up, but I don't want to find out what." He paused as a gust of cold wind from the outside world swept over his fur. Rowanstar frowned again and hissed tentaively, "Do you. . . do you think there are lions here? Do you think we're in danger. . . even when speaking with StarClan?" He hoped beyond all hope that she didn't feel the same way, hoped that Lightstar would say that everything was alright and that there was nothing to fear. But he knew that it wasn't so. He knew she was scared too. ~ Flameheart's shoulder rubbed painfully against the rock walls of the dark tunnel. His eyes were wide, searching for any source of light. The only air he felt in the tunnel was the cold breeze from the outside, and he had to relly on the scents of the leaders to avoid bumping into the walls too much. Everynow and then, the floor of the tunnel would drop into a slope and he would stumble, or it would turn slightly and he would crash into the bend, hissing in pain. He did not like being so enclosed and the air felt so tight and confined. The only sound was the soft scrabling of claws on the rock and Rowanstar and Lightstar's hushed conversation. Though he was right behind the two of them, he couldn't pick up what they were saying. His heart was pounding too loudly in his chest. Flameheart wondered if the others could hear it beating. The floor sloped again and he nearly tumbled into Rowanstar, but caught himself before he could go tumbling down the hill. Small pebbles ran down the slope as he regained his balance, but they sounded like tiny mice feet. Flameheart realised just now how hungry he was.

"I don't think even lions would come in here. It is to holy to us, and I doubt that the lions know of Starclan." Said the she-cat shivering. She herd Flmaeheart stumble behind them, "Use you nightscenses Flameheart." She mewed over her shoulder. She turned back ahead, not being able to see herself. "I just hope Starclan can give us an snwer to whatever this is..." She murmmered, "because, I do feel that we are all in danger."
